Drift

As you guys know, we don’t release a new collection very often.

We only create when an idea is in our mind that we just can’t shake.. and this one has been sitting in there, banging it’s fists on the inside of my brain for a while and just HAD to get out!

I’ve always been a beach wanderer. From my very early years growing up living by the ocean, when my sister used to take me on long walks along the beach admiring all the beautiful treasures that wash ashore with the changing tide. Picking up shells, rocks bits of seaweed… rescuing starfish and jellyfish who had washed up and are at risk of drying out in the sunshine. To my later years when a walk on the beach became my ultimate place for clearing my mind or thinking things over.

Instead of collecting shells from the beach, I’ve created this shell that can be worn to represent the beauty of the shells, while leaving the ones in nature right where they belong. On the beach or in the ocean.

After arranging two separate photo shoots, with model, photographer and a make-up artist and having to call them both off due to the incredibly torrential rain we were experiencing in Byron Bay, Mayra (our latest addition to the t.i.t.s team) and I headed down to the beach on the first sunny morning we could and she modelled for me while I snapped the photos.

We were up before sunrise and snapping on the beach as the sun rose, golden and magical, bringing Drift to life.

We finishing the morning with a dip in the ocean, grateful to our forever muse (Mother Nature) for providing the most perfect setting for this little photoshoot.

In honour of the ocean, we have decided to donate $5 from every piece sold in the Drift collection to our local ocean conservation heroes Positive Change For Marine Life.

Because the ocean really is our favourite place to be and we need to protect it.
