She Lives Free

She Lives Free is our latest collection of handmade, sustainable and ethical jewels.

I've always been one to ruin things... I remember my mum giving me a watch that was not water resistant for Christmas many years ago and I wore it in the water that very same day.. and that was the end of that!

I used to think I was just reckless but as I've grown older and wiser, I've come to realise just how many people there are like me! People who want their jewellery to be an extension of themselves.. something they can leave on and wear in the ocean, take travelling, wear in the shower if they so wish.. something that will age gracefully and not be a hindrance to the free life they live.

And that is what this collection is all about. Enjoying your life, and if you wish to wear some beautiful accessories, allowing them to be a part of your everyday life.

When we wear jewellery, it truly is like adding a part to ourselves...something we wear so close to our body, our blood, our hearts.. I think it is so important that it aligns with our morals and our way of life. That is why I do my absolute best to source all components for my designs from ethical and sustainable suppliers. I find out exactly where each little piece is coming from and I buy recycled and local as much as I can.

So thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope you enjoy my designs as much as I do!

This photo shoot, was lot's of fun, working with some amazing women I met here in Margaret River... Denni who doesn't really want to be a model but she wears my pieces so beautifully I talked her into it and she did an amazing job! And the wonderfully talented Jo from Jo McGuire Makeup Artist who doesn't just do stunning make up, right to brief, but she's also a stand out awesome assistant to have on a shoot! Helping with styling and directing, she's that extra pair of hands and eyes that are needed so much on a photo shoot.

We had such a fun day, with me behind the camera and the sun shining, so here are a few photos that capture the spirit of the day and the collection.

A big thank you to Alex from Shapes In The Sand Swim for lending me one of her beautiful Gum Blossom bikinis to feature in the shoot too. You must check out her work.. her pieces are Australian made with her own prints using fabric which is woven from discarded ghost nets and plastic bottles cleaned up from the ocean. They are high quality and practical designs... I can't wait to get one myself for summer!

So I hope you like these designs and just a little reminder to shop ethical this festive season... what we buy defines our world.

With love and gratitude,

Justine xo
